Snowdrops are a welcome symbol of the New Year.
They symbolise ‘hope’ as the dark cold days of Winter begin to give way to the imminent arrival of Spring.
As a white flower they represent ‘purity’ and ‘simplicity’ and are an exquisite flower to include in a painting for a new born child.
In the Language of Flowers they have the meanings ‘friendship in adversity’ and ‘hope in sorrow’.
