Lily of the Valley Fairy Queen
When the Lily of the Valley flowers in the Spring, the nightingale returns after his Winter migration; hence the flower meaning of ‘Return of Happiness’ for this exquisite little flower.
The Fairy Queen welcomes back the nightingale and the grey clouds at her feet disperse as the sun returns.
Her headress and dress are adorned with peacock feathers which symbolise transformation, the transformation of the seasons, and the transformation of oneself from perhaps grief or sadness to hope and renewed happiness.
Her cloak is richly embroidered with lily of the valley and the flowers are coming into bloom at her feet amid the grey clouds that dissolve in the Spring sunshine.
