ISIS was the great mother goddess of ancient Egypt, the mother of the Sun God Horus, and the wife of OSIRIS.
She was known as ‘Great in Magic’ as her knowledge of the magic arts was equaled by none.
She was also known as a Protector and with her outstretched wings she protected the dead.
In this painting she holds forth the Anhk, the symbol of life.
Painting taken from a collector plate design produced by Bradford Exchange.
